Direct Primary Care — Frequently Asked Questions

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?

DPC is a membership model that replaces insurance with simplicity. You pay a flat monthly fee for unlimited access to your physician — no surprise bills, no copays, no middlemen.

How is this different from concierge medicine?

Concierge practices often bill insurance and charge an annual retainer. DPC is simpler — no insurance, just transparent monthly pricing and a direct relationship with your doctor.

What does my membership include?

Unlimited messaging and virtual visits, chronic disease management, annual wellness care, and coordination for labs, imaging, and referrals — all managed by your physician.

Can I still keep my insurance?

Absolutely. Many members keep insurance for emergencies or specialist care. DPC simply replaces the need to use insurance for primary care services.

Do you handle prescriptions and chronic care?

Yes. As your primary care physician, I manage medications, renewals, and chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders, and more.

Are there hidden fees?

Nope. Your monthly membership covers nearly everything. You only pay extra for outside services like labs, imaging, or specialty referrals — usually at wholesale cost.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Memberships are month-to-month. If you cancel, your access continues through the end of your paid month. No refunds, no penalties, no drama.

Is this insurance?

No. DPC is not insurance and does not replace catastrophic or emergency coverage. It’s an affordable, relationship-based alternative for everyday healthcare.

Who is Whole Purpose Health?

We’re a nonprofit medical organization dedicated to healing through connection and access — bringing relationship-based care to everyone, not just the wealthy.

What if I need specialty or hospital care?

We’ll coordinate referrals and share your health data with your specialists or hospital team to ensure continuity of care. DPC makes the system less fragmented, not more.
