The root
The Five Elements
Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space, with Space at the center. They are the root of Whole Purpose Health: the order of every gathering and the thread of the teaching through the year.
The hour
Each gathering moves through the five elements.
- Earth
Arrive. The candle is lit and the agreements are read.
- Water
A short arrival round, or a breath together.
- Fire
The teaching: this month's element.
- Air
The open floor, then the closing round.
- Space
The bell, and silence.
The table
Five objects
- EarthA stone
- WaterA bowl of water
- FireA candle
- AirAn open window, or the breath
- SpaceA bell
The year
One element a month
- EarthDecember, the founding circle
- WaterJanuary
- FireFebruary
- AirMarch
- SpaceApril
The teaching turns in the same order every time, then begins again with Earth.
Where it comes from
The five elements here come from Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche's teaching on the five elements, taught in Dr. Tagge's own words. Acupuncture has its own five phases. They are a separate system, and this circle does not treat the two as the same.
Hear when enrollment opens
One note when the next cohort opens. Nothing else.
